Supervision and Safety

The Ark-la-tex Christian Encampment takes the security of your children very seriously.  With that in mind all staff involved with the camp are faithful members of the churches of Christ. Each cabin will have its own conscientious counselor who will be responsible for the welfare of the campers at all times. For the safety of all parties,  campers are prohibited from bringing firearms and tobacco products.

The camp grounds are monitored and kept clean, including the bath houses.  The swimming pool will be kept locked aside from designated swimming times.  The pool itself has a filter and chlorination purifier, and is periodically cleaned of any leaves.

Health and Medicines

A staff member with medical training will be on duty at all sessions of camp. In the event of illness or injury the director will consult with a physician.  All medication must be given to the director/medical staff member when children are being dropped off for camp.  Prescription drugs must be in their original containers with the physician’s directions and camper’s name on the label.  Over-the-counter medication must also be left in the infirmary. All medication will be distributed at the proper time by medical staff. Campers MAY NOT keep any medication with them.

Food

Experience personnel will prepare both meals and snacks for the children. The cost of snacks (formerly referred to as canteen) is included in the cost of camp.
